Beautie and the Hoodie

My good friend Jay Mawson just informed me about his new website. ‘Beautie & The Hoodie’ (right) was one of the 40 winning entries in Tate Britain’s How We are Now Flickr competition. Jay was most recently featured on the Channel 4 TV Show, Picture This.

Jay’s Sunday League set is strongly reminiscent of the work of John Davies and worth close inspection. Take a peek at his more recent Fasion work too.

In a recent conversation Jay revealed that he is in the process of creating a series of portraits featuring water, having seen one of the images already, I can assure you this is a set that is not to be missed when it comes to fruition.

griff

Griff le riff, aka Stephen Griffin, has been working hard over the last year shooting Leeds by night, he’s in the process of putting together a body of work to be reviewed by Stephen Vaughan (currently exhibiting ‘Ultima Thule’ at Impressions - good stuff btw) and Anne McNeil (director) over at Impressions Gallery.

The full set is well worth a look and in my opinion quite faithfully reproduces the elements of a night out in the city.

You can see the full set here.
